Hybrid schedule up to 3x/week onsite during core business hours Monday-Friday 35 hours/week 


The Endpoint Security Engineer will assist in the development and build of a secure, scalable, and cloud-native data processing framework that supports the NYC Office of Technology and Innovation’s Cyber Command defensive efforts. The resource will work within Cyber Command’s Security Sciences division responsible for the design and implementation of robust endpoint security monitoring/ continuous security monitoring solutions.


  • Identify and implement performance improvements across all pipelines
  • Create reports of non-compliant endpoints on the network
  • Coordinate the installation of endpoint protection software with agencies representatives using a variety of technologies
  • Develop configuration settings, policies, and software level standards
  • Provide support as needed to City agencies facing issues with endpoint security products
  • Create and deploy automated system changes using a variety of tools
  • Merge and analyze data sources to create accurate reports on the state of compliance for all endpoints on the network
  • Collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams to integrate security controls and procedures into workflows
  • Automate controls and redundant processes whenever possible
  • Engage with data consumers and producers in order to design appropriate models to suit all needs for endpoint log collection
  • Support incident management, service-level management, change management, release management, continuity management, and availability management for databases and data management systems
  • Administer databases and/or data management systems that allow for the secure storage, query, protection, and utilization of data.
  • Perform security reviews, identify gaps in security architecture, and develop a security risk management plan.
  • Design, build, install, configure, and test dedicated cyber defense systems (hardware and software)
  • Liaise with cybersecurity vendors to support procurement of cybersecurity solutions


  • At least 4 years of experience analyzing large, high velocity, heterogeneous environments
  • At least 4 years of experience with MDM solutions (Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE)
  • Minimum 4 years of experience working in an enterprise environment supporting managed and domain joined workstations
  • Minimum 4 years of experience troubleshooting endpoint issues, working with system administrators and vendor support teams
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise with endpoint security solution (Microsoft, Crowdstrike, McAfee)
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows stack (Active Directory, DNS, WMI, DHCP, etc.)
  • Hands-on knowledge in at least one system management platform such as Microsoft SCCM


  • In-depth experience troubleshooting workstation and server issues
  • Familiarity with scripting, Web development methodology, and automated testing
  • Familiarity working with Terraform
  • Familiarity with the CI/CD process
  • Familiarity with all three major clouds - Azure, AWS, and GCP
  • Experience working and integrating with SaaS services and APIs
  • Experience with Windows, Linux, and MacOS administration
  • Familiarity with or exposure to cloud application development
  • Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks.
  • Experience communicating effectively across internal and external organizations for complex mission-critical solutions
  • Skilled in configuring and utilizing software-based cybersecurity tools
  • Skilled in configuring and utilizing cybersecurity hardware components
  • Malware analysis and 3 years of experience with Cybersecurity SOC is a plus
  • Experience with the Agile Development Methodology
  • Experience using scripting languages (Python, Bash, Powershell, etc.)
