Location:

  • No physical requirements.
  • Remote – open to candidates across the U.S.
  • Team sits across Redmond (mostly) but also the Bay Area and Toronto.
  • Preference for the role to be remote in PST time zone.

 

Top 3 must-have HARD skills:

  1. Program management, coordination, dependency management, multi-tasking, cross-group technical collaboration and team building skills experience.
  2. Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams and cross-functional stakeholders at different levels within the organization.
  3. Experience being flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities.

 

Good to have skills:

  1. Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
  2. Experience with driving programs in a research or start-up environment.
  3. Program-level strategic planning and complex issue resolution


Summary:

  • As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) on this team, you will work with a team of talented AI researchers, HCI researchers, designers, data scientists, engineers and other cross-functional team members to envision, build and test new computational models and systems.
  • We are looking for an experienced technical leader who can support complex systems at a large scale, while maintaining clarity of vision and organizational awareness.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with researchers and their stakeholders to define engineering system architecture, research roadmaps, program milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop project schedules based on requirements, technical challenges and available resources.
  • Coordinate communication between internal and external teams and partners.
  • Report program status, issues, challenges and help needed with all stakeholders.
  • Collect, monitor and ensure the team’s needs are met around procurement, external engagement, budget, hiring, data collections, and coordinate with other teams when necessary.
  • Work closely with team managers to develop new processes, best practices and supporting tools to improve the efficiency of team meetings, project monitoring, and status updates in a multi-team multi-disciplinary growing organization.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • artificial intelligence, computer science, machine learning, human-computer interaction or technical product/program management experience.
