Visualization Engineer

 

Responsibilities: (The primary tasks, functions and deliverables of the role)

  • Build and deploy data visualization reports, dashboards and insights within a focused area of the Client business value stream to enable business decisions, drive performance and lead to the accomplishment of annual goals
  • Implement robust data visualization and dash boarding solutions that help the business leverage/ operationalize analytical insights to drive performance
  • Project manage and deliver large visualization projects with multiple business stakeholders on firm deadlines
  • Lead development and ongoing management of tools and processes, establishingmetrics to monitor plans and communicate critical reports
  • Utilize expertise to collaborate with key partners to understand requirements for reports and interactive dashboards, drive knowledge into action and support data driven decision making
  • Work independently and take initiative to identify, explore and solve problems
  • Document and communicate systems/analytics changes to the business, translating complex functionality into business relevant language
  • Keep current on data visualization technology and best practices
  • Convert existing legacy reports to a modernized visualization tool

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering and/or related field.
  • 5 yearsof relevant experience developing dashboards, data visualizations and self-service tools including Tableau and Cognos
  • Experience in leveraging data visualization and dash boarding techniques to make complex data more accessible, understandable and usable to drive business decisions and outcomes•
  • Experience with data extraction and analysis technologies such as Tableau, Power BI, Cognos, SQL or similar tools
  • Proven ability to sift through data, identify critical information, analyze, develop hypotheses and make recommendations required
  • Ability to collaborate with key partners to understand/identify requirements, drive knowledge into action and support data driven decision making
  • Strong ability to lead and/or work on cross-functional teams and provide project management support
  • Experience in definition of new measures, and the translation of business goals into quantitative metrics and
  • Proficient with Excel; experience with a statistical package is a plus (such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently requiring minimal direction, execute large projects following established guidelines/procedures and take initiative to explore and solve problems
  • Good understanding of key topicsin marketing science, data science, and applied analytics as well as emerging trends in market research, consumer insights, ecommerce, digital marketing, and mobile app development
